Monday's Ministry Morsel (On Tuesday)

I read an interesting story this morning about a woodpecker that was hammering away at a limb when lightning struck the tree, splitting it down the center. Fortunately the red-headed woodpecker was not killed or even hurt. The story went on to say that immediately the little feathered creature hurriedly rounded up a few of his woodpecker friends and brought them to the sight where the exciting event happened. When he had gathered them all around--the little woodpecker was heard to say--"See, I told you. Look at what I did!" Humility--It can fly away rather swiftly in our conduct and conversation and pride can swoop in so quickly to fill the vacuum. William Temple has been quoted as saying

Monday's Ministry Morsel

As I began this Monday--I was reminded of the association of light and sight. Have you ever dropped something and needed light to help you find it? It was there but you couldn't see it. On occasion, others who have better sight are able to help you find it. It is amazing how things can hide in the shadows of a small room. A small paper clip can hide in plain sight without enough light. I saw a small round clip fall from a shelf this morning in my home and looked for a while to try to find it. I saw it fall and heard it bounce on the carpet. I know it is in that small area somewhere but all of my efforts proved unproductive. I moved some things around in order for the light to help me

James gives us that key that unlocks the door of God's blessing of peace and power in our lives! It is found in that same chapter in verse 7-10. "Therefore submit to God, Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to yo

Kindness--a small thing really that pays huge dividends! It is included in the fruit of the Spirit. (Galatians 5:22) Question--Is it included in your daily activities, responsibilities, and interaction with others ? Mentioned it Sunday at the close of service and reminding everyone in our prayer ministry team this month of the emphasis on this often overlooked fruit of the Spirit. Therefore on this first day of May I encourage everyone in the fellowship of First to demonstrate one random act of kindness every day this month toward someone you cross paths with. On a day where many are protesting many things, a little kindness is prescribed from our Father in heaven as demonstrated by His S
