Wednesday's Words

The word for this week is 'PROGRESS'. It's a word that communicates the continuing pursuit of accomplishment. The word 'progress' emphasizes forwardmovement. It may be little by little at times while at others it may come in large strides. Whichever the case, 'progress' communicates gain or even growth. The term is used so often and in so many different applications that we seldom appreciate what it emphasizes. A fellow minister once shared with me that we must learn to celebrate 'progress'. An often we must do that patiently. Most everything that is worth anything takes time to build correctly so that what is undertaken may endure over the long term. The phrase--'Rome wasn't built in a d

Wednesday's Words

The word for this week is 'UNLESS'. It is a word that is used more than you might think in our conversations. The word may be used as a conjunction to communicate the term 'except if', which can sound a bit awkward in a sentence. The word 'unless' is a conditional term. Something is required. Example being--"Unless I hear from you, I will expect to see you on Thursday." The word 'unless' is used several times in scripture to communicate the need for a response from God. Follow and find are two words that can change the course of your life as well as the condition of your life. In these two words we discover an extremely important principle on how to live the life that God produces in us and provides for us. It is simply this--'what we follow determines what we find.' The principles of the word of God and the preferences of the world system that desires to separate you from God are

Wednesday's Words

The word for this week is 'NOW'. At first, the word might sound very demanding. For some, too demanding with all of the other things so many are pursuing that presses in on them. As you know, some things require immediate attention while others may be postponed for an hour or two, even a day or two. The key is to know and do what is important even when other things may seem more urgent. The word of God says in James 4:14, "You do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is compared to a vapor (mist) that appears for a little while and then vanishes away." The most important day you have is today. The most important moment you have is 'now'. The word of God reminds
