The filter of thankfulness. While we are almost to the end of the month of March, four months removed from the traditional time of thanksgiving, it is still important to filter the everyday occurrences of life through the filter of thankfulness. I realize that is difficult on occasion but still necessary for an overall healthy perspective on life. Friends. They're so very important in our life. It is as important to know and have friends in high places. In saying that I'm not referring to people who happen to hold positions in government or other organizations in this world. I speak of the friend that scripture describes as sticking closer than a brother. Jesus is the Friend that we may consult with about anything at any time during the day. In fact, John wrote these words about our friend Jesus in 1 John 5:14--"This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." Good Monday morning to all! Trust you are being refreshed by the presence of the Lord in this season of revival! If that isn't the case, let me encourage you in how that could become a daily reality. In begins with being 'in sync'. That's a term that many have become familiar with in culture of late. However, many miss the importance of it in the spiritual application. 'In sync' is the shortened version of 'synchronization'. The term actually means--'in a state in which two or more people or things move or happen together at the same time and speed.' Know anyone who needs encouragement? One need only take a look in the mirror. I ran across this short example of encouragement that applies regardless of how young or old you may be. It said; "Everyone needs recognition for his accomplishments, but few people make the need known quite as clearly as the little boy who said to his father: "Let's play darts.
