I was reminded the other day of the importance of forgiveness and how it is critical to spiritual health both with God and with those we live among. David knew the personal nature of forgiveness. Like we, David was a flawed person who failed often in his life on earth, yet God forgave Him because he was willing to deal with the sin that severed the intimacy of his relationship with God. Verses 1-2 of Psalm 32 speak volumes to anyone who reads it. "Blessed is he who transgression is forgiven; whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute (charge with) sin." David reveals the personal process of being forgiven from sin in verse 5. "I said, 'I will confess my tran

Glory to God for His continuing grace and goodness toward us! Hope you were able to join with the fellowship of saints yesterday in worship of a risen Lord! Praise the Lord for His continuing work of salvation in the hearts of those willing to receive Jesus as Savior. Pray for Dayona Byrd as she begins her faith journey with Jesus!! Baptism is scheduled for May 5th! Celebrate life in Jesus this week. In matters of salvation those who are actively involved in church have heard often of the need to 'be ready'. Being ready saves you and me the embarrassment of being late or worse unprepared. But this term has more than one application. While it is paramount that you and I be ready spiri

Good Monday to all! I trust your work week is off to a good start! It seems that everywhere we turn we are faced with policies and procedures for our work as well as our earthly relationships. At times all of it can seem a little overwhelming. We are often governed by the laws of men that too often can become difficult to fully understand and at times hard to adhere to. The Jews had similar issues, as well. God had given His people the Ten Commandments at Sinai (Exodus 20:1-7). In the Torah or Pentateuch, (the first five books of the Bible attributed to Moses as given him by God), there are another 613 commands. If you'll take the time to read those books, you'll discover a lot of policy

There was a question asked recently in one of our small groups about knowing God's will and more importantly how does one discover it in order to do it? God has gifted each of us uniquely so that we might fulfill the various functions of His body, the church. 1 Corinthians 12:18 reminds us that God places the members, those who are born again in the body as He pleases. As we find our purpose, then we are better able to find our place and begin to serve the Lord in His body, the church. In that we are blessed and become a blessing to others! Romans 8:28 declares that "God works all things together for our good if we love God and are being fit into His purpose." That said, what is God's pur

We are eighteen days and counting since the last prayer in a revival meeting in March. The question is, are you still being renewed by the presence of the Lord or have you decided to wait till next fall or next year or the next time revival meetings are scheduled to pick that practice up again? O.S. Hawkins writes in his work--'the Believers Code'-- "God does not keep it a secret; if we want revival, we need to humble ourselves." Personal revival is available every day, but we must continue to seek His face and obey His word if we hope to have the fuel necessary to overcome what comes against us. We know that we as believers need a healthy and vigorous prayer life. That was the secret for
