First Things @ First

Ministry Perspective, I am reading through the daily devotional, 'The Believer's Code' by O.S. Hawkins in 2020. God has truly given us genuine men of God who are being used for His kingdom purpose. Hawkins written material is a case in point. My journey has been influenced for the better through the inspiration and insight that God's Spirit has provided. And God is continuing to be glorified. The latest of those insights came on a Saturday morning a few days ago during some time with the Lord. It is worth sharing, especially if you find yourself dealing with circumstances that are leaving you somewhat disturbed or 'shaken' a bit. Follow along and you'll discover a fresh perspective on life;

First Things @ First

Ministry Perspective, Words. With them we build up and with them we break down. No matter how little or large, words have the potential to carry significance provided we don't read too fast or run by them so quickly that we miss their meaning. One case in point; the two-letter word 'IS' that's found in Psalm 46:1. "God IS our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." 'IS' speaks of God's active presence in the life of a believer in the present. Not the past or even the future. God is with you and me every moment of every day directing the thoughts and intents of our heart, especially as we subject our will to His. Although He knows what we don't, sees what we can't and does

Ministry Perspective, The ministry focus for 2020 is centered on being intentional in the mission purpose of the N.T. Church. In 2019, all in this fellowship of First were encouraged to reach one for Jesus' sake in matters of personal salvation. You may or may not have seen that assignment fulfilled. So, in our continuing journey with Jesus, our focus in 2020 will be on being more intentional in honoring His commission to the church. We must purpose daily to be used of God in such a way that a life is 'altared' through humility for eternity. 1 John 3:18-20 says, "My little children, (John is addressing believers when he says) let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
