Wednesday's Words

This week's word is centered on security.

There is a lot in the news about the need for increased security today. And yet with all of our technology and security systems in place, vulnerabilities are still exposed and the lack of assurance causes fear to grip the heart as a result. And Satan, along with those who follow him are the only ones entertained by it.

Short of a prison like atmosphere with armed guards, security cameras in every room, security checkpoints at every door with metal detectors and the like, earthly security remains very difficult to achieve on a consistent basis. That however is not the case with the eternal security of the believer.

Eternal security, unlike earthly security depends on God and His faithfulness to His word, not man and his faithfulness to his. The BIG difference between eternal security and earthly security is based on the fundamental fact that God cannot lie and will not deceive. On the other hand, mankind without God cannot keep from doing either.

Charles Stanley, who by the way speaks currently to more people on a weekly basis than any other man/messenger of God writes in his devotional book--"The Power of the Cross"-- (pg.17)--

"Satan wants to destroy your faith. Once that is weakened or gone altogether, you are powerless against him. Your faith is constantly under attack. Some battles you will win; some you will lose. But regardless of the shape your faith is in, your salvation is always intact. For whereas your faith is often tuned in to your changing circumstances, your salvation is anchored in the unchanging nature and grace of God. And God remains faithful, even to the faithless."

Paul wrote these words under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to Timothy, to those he pastored, and to us today--"This is a faithful saying; For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him. If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself."

2 Timothy 2:11-13

The prophet Jeremiah believed the promises of God when he spoke these words to a people who found themselves living in the rubble of Jerusalem and the ruin of rebellion.

"Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new and fresh every morning; Great is Your faithfulness!" Lamentations 3:22-23

I hope you will join me in taking time every day this week to thank God for His faithfulness, even when you and I are faithless. Our security is based and built on it. There's no need to fear the future when God's presence is present and abiding.

Fanny Crosby understood and embraced the promise of eternal security when she wrote--

"Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine, O what a foretaste of glory divine, heir of salvation, purchase of God, born of His Spirit, washed in His blood!"

Therein lies our security and our hope, both now and forevermore!!

Are you able to join Fanny and millions of others in saying with absolute confidence--"Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine?"

IF SO, PRAISE HIS NAME TODAY! IF NOT, WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO LIVE ANOTHER DAY, OR EVEN ONE MORE MINUTE IN FEAR AND UNCERTAINTY WHEN GOD PROVIDES HIS PEACE & SECURITY THROUGH FAITH IN CHRIST?

That is God's promise to us and His best for us! Will you decide today to deny yourself, surrender your will and embrace His gift of salvation It remains the only promise that provides absolute security!

"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy, to the only God our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time both now and forevermore. Amen."

Jude 24-25

May God bless you today and this week!
