Ministry Perspectives,

It is no secret that we are in a 'storm' of shifting winds in this nation. In navigating every day we are given by God, we who know the Lord and trust Him depend on the compass of the Word of God. In doing so, we look ahead with confidence during the times when all we can see is the next huge wave that is about to pound the ship. When our vision is limited, we lean not on our own understanding but on the One who steers the wind and controls the waves. After all, He walks above the tempest as others may who focus on Him instead of what is going on around them or even beneath them. Remember Peter (Matthew 14:29)?

Jesus knew what was coming and what we are facing. He wrote the Book on it! He instructed His disciples on what the circumstances would look like at the end of the age. His instruction to them is His instruction to us today, as well.

Matthew 24:4-14 reads, "Take heed that no one deceives you. (Is it just me, or does it seem like there is a lot of deception in play currently?) For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ, and will deceive many. (America is looking for a social Savior in a leader) And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. (Have you checked your news source lately?) See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. THEN they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name's sake. And then many will be offended, and will betray one another, and will hate one another. (sound familiar?) Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. (penned over nineteen hundred years ago, yet right off the first page today) But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and THEN the end will come."

When asked if this is THE END, the answer is NO. Since Jesus ascended to glory with the promise of return, all who have lived in that two-thousand-year window of grace have been living in what might be described as the end of the beginning. This world and all in it are drawing closer every day to a new chapter in His story.

Deception is rampant in our world! Death is on the increase. People are easily offended, and betrayal is commonplace. To use the words of Jesus, 'famine and pestilences' abound. I looked more closely at the word 'pestilence' the other day to get a clearer perspective on what it meant. Turns out that 'pestilence' means disease, which is no surprise. However, the terms 'plague' and 'troublemaker' may also be applied to the term. Does that not describe the current chaos of what is being propagated as a pandemic in our world?

The Word reveals what is occurring presently with striking detail. God does indeed declare the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10). With omniscience, God knows everything about anything and holds all the power necessary to oversee and even overrule the misguided desires of those who think they are in control. Those, who with time become addicted to the intoxication of what they presume to be power and authority. Yet, when placed alongside the power and authority of God, their power might be compared to a microscopic speck of dust on the tip of the tail of a brontosaurus.

What many, if not most who identify with that sort of 'intoxicating' influence often forget is that any power they have, has been given by God who they are subject to (Romans 13:1). And each is accountable to God for what they are given, as we all are.

God's Word is precisely correct on what is coming around the corner. Jesus has told us what to expect in the final days on this earth. While God is not required to tell us when, what He has said is sufficient to know that the day of our departure is nearer than ever before.

Get His Word out! A 'storm' is coming!

It would be wise to be harnessed securely in His salvation because that is the only way anyone will ride out this 'storm' and experience the calm that Jesus promised would follow.

There is a 'troublemaker' on the loose in our world and 'the Beast' of present-day news media appears to be rising out of the sea in its influence of manipulating the mind of mankind (Revelation 13). Yet, with all that is going on around us, this is not the time to be fearful! This is the time to be faithful and to be filled with His Spirit

(Ephesians 5:18)!

If you have read the end of the Book, those who surrender to Christ through faith experience salvation. That means we win at the end of the beginning. It is written!

If you haven't read that, there's not a better time to do so and believe the Word of God.

The SON will be shining with glory when the clouds of chaos, conflict, and confusion pass away! Praise Jesus for His goodness and grace. Hope you're aboard to see Him. If not, there's still room before the door of opportunity closes and 'the storm' arrives! OnMission365
